SchoolHouse
Terms of Service
Effective June 10, 2026
The short version. SchoolHouse is a homeschool learning platform, currently in free beta.
· It's run by a parent or guardian for their own children.
· The lessons and content are ours; your family's work and data are yours.
· It's beta software — features will change and it's offered as-is. Be kind, don't abuse it.
These Terms are an agreement between you and SchoolHouse ("we," "us") governing your use of schoolhouseathome.com and the SchoolHouse platform (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Who can use SchoolHouse
You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian setting up the Service for the children in your household. You are responsible for the profiles you create for your children and for their use of the Service.
Your account
- Keep your password confidential and your account information accurate.
- You're responsible for activity that happens under your account, including your children's profiles.
- Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Acceptable use
Please use the Service for its purpose — your family's learning. You agree not to:
- Resell, redistribute, or share the lesson content outside your household.
- Copy, scrape, or bulk-download the curriculum or platform.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
- Use the Service to break the law or to harm others.
Content and ownership
The lessons, curriculum, illustrations, characters, software, and design are owned by SchoolHouse and protected by intellectual-property law. While your account is active, we grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use them for your own family's home education.
Your family's data — your children's answers, progress, and the information you enter — belongs to you. We use it only to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Beta service
SchoolHouse is in active development. Features may be added, changed, or removed, and the Service may occasionally be unavailable. We provide the Service "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, and we don't guarantee specific educational outcomes or that the Service will meet your state's homeschooling requirements — please verify your own state's requirements.
Pricing
SchoolHouse is free during the beta, with no credit card required. When we introduce paid plans, founding families will lock in $12/month for as long as they stay subscribed. We'll give you clear notice and a choice before any charge applies to your account.
Ending your use
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are violated or if needed to protect the Service or its users. If we end the Service, we'll give reasonable notice so you can export or delete your data.
Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, SchoolHouse is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, during the free beta, is zero).
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which SchoolHouse operates, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be handled in the courts located there.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves and will revise the effective date above. For significant changes, we'll notify you by email or in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
